Correction of tds challan

Dear All,

I had deposited TDS for FY 2012-13 U/s 194J, 194C & 192, by mistake assessment year has been selected as 2012-13, in place of AY 2013-14.

All the Challans are dated Jan 2013, So, pls guide how to apply for changes with assessing officer.

Pls guide me how to rectify the error.

For Banks to do correction : You have to approach bank before 3 months of deposit of tax, after this period even banks cant do it

i think you will have to

a) Write to Assessing officer to make correction sending him relavant documents and challans with covering lettter

b) if you have filed your returns then the task become more complicated where you have to revise them as well...............

You need to go to your tds ward officer, his ward boy can easily rectify these mistakes but for this you need to pay some amount to them and it depends on person to person. if you don't want to pay any amount then meet with your tds ward officer to get rectification in your challan
