Corporate law final ca ur valuable suggestions

Am confused on how to approach for Corporate Law (CA final).

Please friends post your approach & the sequence in which I should do the topics.

kindly help me.

hi surya........

you need not to open any other book.

Just prepare all the questions of practice manual and Revise it 5 times before exam that's it.

and do Last 3 RTP's including current RTP.

in may 2011 exam 88 marks, nov 2011 exam 90 marks and may 2012 exam 92 marks were just copy paste from practice manual.

if u don't believe in my words just open a paper and compare the questions with questions of practice manual.

I have recently cleared my first group in may 2012 attempt scoring 62 in Law by following practice manul only.

Thanks Suvajit for this very useful suggestion. One more thing i want to ask you is that in practise manual the answers to all the questions are bit lengthy and even such details are given in answers which are not at all asked in questions. And in Munish bhandari sirs book the answers given are very to the point. So pls tell that how should we answer in exam... Should we answer in a lengthy manner like given in practise manual or should we just write to the point answers as given in Munish bhandari. I appeared this may12 but couldnt clear 1st group because of aggregate shortage due to poor marks in audit n law. My law exam was quite good yet i got only 44. So i am just wondering if there was problem in my way of answering. Someone please suggest. Thanks.

hi Ashish ji..........

munish bhandari is a very good book specially for understanding the essence of a provision,

and I used this book to understand the complex provisions specially sec 295-301 of companies act.

you don't have to write very lenghty answers in the exam but you have to present the main points skillfully by adding some extra lines which would add value to your answer.

In every answer there will be some main points or punch points which you would have to incorporate in your answers in a very skillful way ,which is called drafting of an answer.

at final level almost all the students tries to write to the point answers and those who possess good writing skill, carries good marks. and even carrying 70% marks by following handbook only is possible but you have possess execellent writing skill.

If you would try to remember the exact punch points, you need to have a very good writing skill to draft the answer. and drafting an answer on your own in the exam hall will consume little bit extra time.

while all the answers in the practice manual are nicely drafted answers as because they are suggested answers of ICAI. They will show you how to start an answer and how to end it.

and if you think that " some portion of answers are excessive or unnecessary you can suitably modify it by striking through those lines".

if you think there is a complex line writen by icai "you can strike through the line or delete the line or write a line from the book of Munish bhandari which is more digestable to you" but while doing this you have keep in mind the essence of the answer does not changes.

Firstly, I thank you kindly for your prompt response!

Munish Bhandari has authored two books - Main book (voluminous) & the hand book.

Which one should I buy? (am an average student).

Could you please list the Sequence for the topics in Law - I'll follow the same order.

you should buy the main book as it contains more explanations and bare act also.

habdbook is of no use at final level.

start your preparation from the chapter Directors in the companies act and then move forward .

first complete companies act , revise it 3-4 time to digest it completely then go for allied law part.

I would suggest you to start with the chapter of directors. I am sure with a reasonable basic understanding you’ll find the same very interesting. Keep corporate law bare act with you along with good notes and Munish Bhandari book. Please find below the sequence of study corporate law sections which I had used:

Strategy/technique to prepare Section in Company Law:

1. First read the Section from Bare Act as bare act contain the pure law passed by legislature/Parliament.

2. Then read the same section from your law book with full concentration. You may refer book of Munish Bhandari for CA IPCC/PCC and CA Final.

3. Now it is the turn of your coaching notes. Read them thoroughly. Analyse all the situations discussed in the class.

4. Now read all the previous exam problems based on that particular section from book. Use scanner with ICAI suggested answer to prepare previous exam problems.

Try and understand the application of section in practical problem. If you follow the above 4 points carefully and honestly then you may consider your section finished for life. Believe me and try this method.

So Bare act & Munish's handbook & past exam Qts. would be sufficient?

Dear Surya,

I can understand your limitations and as per my suggestion remove the word sufficient from your dictionary as how can I say that this is sufficient or that is sufficient? So just start your study from book. Try and understand the section. After gaining enough confidence, check your knowledge from past exam questions. Try and apply your law knowledge on previous exam practical questions.
