NO. Without COP, A CA cannot act as a partner in a CA Firm. He must hold COP for practising as a CA either individuallly or in partnership.

Chartered accountant can be associated with a CA firm in 2 ways -1st Paid assistant and 2nd as a partner.
Paid assistant means simply a person is in employment but when taking into consideration the provision of CA regulations only practising CA can be partner. So COP isreqd.
