I have been using the addin inword.xla for a long time and it was very useful. However, the drawbacks are that when you send data in excel file containing an inword formula, the recipient also needs to have the inword addin otherwise it shows error. Also it did not add the word"Rupee" in prefix and "Paise" in suffix which is the Indian style of writing.
But I now found something better. This is a Program by

I found a program written by Mr. Yogi Anand and I am using it now. A lot of people who do not know VBA find it a problem to use it, so I have compiled it in an excel sheet and attached the same. The original function was titled spellindian, which I found was too long so I changed the name of the routine to "Rupee".
Just download the excel file and start working. It is as simple. If you know VBA then the routine is anyway available insid ethe file and you can always copy it to your excel sheet.
If you already have an excel sheet where you want to use the formula, then do the following:
1. open the attached file
2. Copy and paste all the sheets from your excel file into the attached file.
3. Save it back in the name you want.
Even if you send the excel file to someone it will still work. If you are working in excel 2010, then just rename the same in the new format as a macro enabled worksheet and it will work.
I hope you find this useful.
