An educational trust registered under Sec 8 of the Companies Act wants to constrcut additional building in its existing school and accept donations for the same from companies - both Public and Pvt ltd companies.

Will this be covered and elegible as CSR activites?

Quick Summary

This discussion explores whether the construction of a new school building by an educational trust, funded by company donations, can be considered a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity. The consensus suggests that if the educational trust's activities align with Schedule VII of the Companies Act 2013, and the construction is an approved, ongoing project, it is likely eligible as CSR.

If an education trust will provide education as per the activities specified in schedule vii of the Companies Act 2013, it would be considered CSR Activities. Constructing additional building may fall under the ongoing projects of the CSR Activity
