what are consequeces under service tax provisions if the registration is taken under a wrong category.

If any changes need to be effected in Form ST2( Registration Certificate),the changes have to be intimated to the Supt CE within 30 days of such changes. In your case, this will be 30 days within obtaining original Registration certificate. Apart from this , Act does not specify any penal action for the above case.
