23 October 2009What are the consequences if I deduct TDS (u/s194C) of Rs. 800 instead of Rs. 1000. Whether the whole of my expense will get disallowed or only proportionate exp on which tax has been paid will be disallowed???
Is there any circular / notification for it. kindly help in this regard.

Only the proportionate expenses shall be disallowed. But you should depositt the balance TDS now, so that that part of expenditure can be claimed in current year.
