Confusion to be resolved

HI i cleared my chartered accountancy in February,2012. Now i m confused as to join a job or to start my own practice. Currently i m working with a company as a consultant but i m not satisfied with the working environment because its an infrastructure company. I just wanna know about the growth level if i enter practice or if i continue with my Job....Thanks...:)

This type of decision depends on your attitude. If you are adventrous and can make clients, then go for practice otherwise employment.

Dear CA Pratik,

First of all Congratulation you completed your CA.

Just answer these questions for yourself and then take a decision forward

What you wanna do in 5 years from now??

If its practice, Just start straight away coz if you wanna come after 3-4 years you will surely not like to leave a lucrative salary you would be drawing at the end of 4th year from now

But then this depends on financially how much independent you are and what the firm which has offered you as partner is paying you.

Well do not join a senior audit firm, coz you will not have anything to experiment.

Join a young and growing firm most likely you join some of your batchmate who is starting a fresh.

Pros and cons of Job:-

promotion after few yrs
stable or hike in pay
Financial Stability
as a infra co.the business will continue increase it wil hav less chance of undergrowth

Pros and cons of practice:-

It all depends on the finance available and risk taking capability
difficulty in getting clients (unless u hav gud contacts)
as ur firm grows u wil hav workload
reduction in family life
Risk as it is ur own business

So please analyse the aforesaid points and clear ur path towards success. Congratulations for ur achievment.
