When we simply cross a cheque by two parallel lines, we actually intend that cheque to be paid into the account of the bearer. It can't be encashed on any counter of the bank. It can only be credited in the account of the person. It can be endorsed.
If we write an "account payee" , it can't be negotiable and can only be put into that person's account whose name is written in the "Pay" column of the cheque..No encashment across the counter nor any endorsement..

Hi
Actually Crossing of Cheque means to draw two parallel lines on the left hand side corner of the cheque.
There are many ways to cross a cheque. One of them is by writing A/c Payee between the parallel lines.
Thats it..
