When institute extended PE II attempt last time, it has strictly specified in the announcement that PE II attempts will not be extended further for any reason... So according to me, U can opt to switch over...

First correct line behind your name....

Use Going...to be CA soon... in place of Still....Not a C.A. 

No need to depend on ICAI announcements....switch over is a good option for you and do not be afraid to extra study...your previous experience will definitely help you.

Just be happy and think positive.

1. Wait for the PE-2 results.
   
2. If u also not clear PE-2 EXAMS , u will then also be eligible to appear in NOV. 2010 exams in IPCC (fulfilling some conditions).
   
3. U must start study Service Tax, VAT atleast. Their knowledge is must even if u r PE-2 STUDENT.
   
4. Read SM after result declaration, if found necessary.
   
5. Well, be positive, might be u clear PE-2 this time.
   

The details of IPCC are:

1. Undergo Information Technology Training (ITT) provided by ICAI itself for 100 Hours.
2. Undergo the Orientation Programme conducted by ICAI for 35 Hours.

• Eligibility Criteria:A student who has passed the CPT and 12th standard examination may join the Integrated Professional Competence Course
• Practical Training: After passing group-I of the course, a student must join a practicing Chartered Accountant for practical training (Articleship). Articleship shall be of 3 years duration (36 months).
• Additionally: In addition to artcileship a student must complete 100 hours of Information Technology Training (ITT) and 35 hours of ‘Orientation Programme’ ITT is to be started after a student registers for IPCC and completed before appearing in Group-I and Group-II of IPCE or Group I / ATE. Orientation Programme is of 4 sessions per day for 35 hours with an ICAI accredited institute.
• Integrated Professional Competence Examination (IPCE): A student will have to appear for the IPCE after fulfillment of following conditions: PCE is conducted twice in a year, May and November.

Well u have cleared group 1 which means u will be exempted from giving accounts., law and audit paper. Now in ipcc to start articles u need to clear group first only. In group one u have to only appear in Tax and costing and fm paper. Do not study Information technology and just go with tax and cfm.  In tax 50mks is for vat and service tax its quite easy. Moreover the portion is also reduced a bit as compared to pe2.  in cfm u only have to do standard and marginal costing extra rest all is same in ipcc cfm. 

As for the question of urs regarding conversion , well i think u should wait for pe2 results, after results u can convert to ipcc and appear for Nov010 as icai has done away with mandatory 9 month clause of ipcc .

AUR SACH KEH RAHA HUN AGAR APNE DECISION KE BAAD KUCH NEGATIVE HOTA HAI TO UTNA BURA NAHI LAGTA.

aur HO SAKTA HAI ICAI ANNOUNCE KAR DE KI PE-II KE ATTEMPT BADH GAYE HAI YA YE BHI HO SAKTA HAI KI NA BADHE.

SO I WILL SUGGEST YOU LISTEN TO YOUR HEART AND THEN MAKE DECISION AND AFTER CONSIDERING YOUR DECISION, IF YOU DONT WANT TO CONVERT THEN FOR SAFE SIDE FOLLOW RAHUL BANSAL ADVICE AND IF YOU WANT TO CONVERT THEN ANKUR GARG'S ADVICE.

Don't opt for PE-2 anymore........but wait for pe-2 results...
