condonation request 199(2)(b)

On e filing portal  service request for condonation is for e-verify of ITR-V /  submission of ITR-V   and not for condonation request to filing income tax return

I would like to raise a question. In case the return is been filed but the ITR-V has reached the department but after the due date, then may we apply using the online option for the same?? As the return is already filed online.
