According to me it is not required, if you want give one news paper advertisment effecting the change of name of the company. You can also send an intimation letter of name change to all important parties, regulatory autorities, banks and such other departments as you think fir.
Kindly rectify if I am wrong.

For listed entities it is 3 years.
For unlisted companies nowhere mentioned but may be desired by ROC through its name change approval letter/certificate. But chances form ROC side are very very low.
