Most of we think CA examination is toughest Exams,
Not only the toughness of the Exams makes CA a toughest Degree but the Life of a student go through the process of becoming a Chartered Accountant.
While replying of queries here in CCI, I replied maximum queries which are related to such issues which a students will never like to face.
Why CA examination results are so poor? it depends on the some points which I felt are quite reasonable...
1. Difficult Transfer Procedure:
The Institute had restricted the Transfer of Articles w.e.f. April 1, 2009. Due to this restriction, various students are now being forced to continue working under their present principals even though they are not satisfied with their article ship. Due to this, the principles are exploiting their articled assistants, not only physically but mentally too, to work under the terms & conditions that suit the principals. Hence, the principal are enjoying a dominant position & the students are feeling totally handicapped.
2. Irregular/Non-payment of Stipend:
This is one of the most common problems of all the students. In many cases, the principal is not paying any stipend to the articled assistants. Also, various principals are making deductions from the minimum prescribed stipend amount for leaves that are available to the articled assistants i.e. even if the articled assistant has not taken any excess leave still amount is being deducted.
3. Low stipend:
The minimum stipend of Rs. 1000/1250/1500 prescribed by Institute of Chartered Accountants of India is not enough to even meet for the conveyance expenses of articles. In view of increasing inflation, it becomes nearly impossible for a CA student to even meet his basic requirement from this stipend.
4. Leave During Exams:
Clearing the CA Examination requires a lot of hard work especially in the modern age of cut-throat competition. Students need at least 3-4 months to prepare themselves mentally for the exams but the principals do not understand this & hence they deny their articled assistants from taking sufficient leaves during the exam season. This adversely affects the performance of students in the crucial CA examinations.
5. Timings of Article ship Training:
35 hours of articleship training in a week are very high considering the amount of coaching a CA student is required to undergo.
Even when there is not much audit work, still the students are forced to sit in their respective offices & do some other work which in no way is related to practical training. This results in wastage of precious time of the students which could otherwise have been utilized in studying.
6. Assistance from the Branch
One of the biggest problem with students is where to go for assistance?
Lack of assistance from the ICAI branches are few more examples where ICAI is lacking behind.
Students have to wait for weeks or even for a month for their query posted on E-Sahaayata portal.
No replies of the calls made to the Regional Offices, and if they pick the call no satisfactory replied you will get.
Health Issues:
Continuos of Office Load and Pressure is one of the common reason for health problem,
Office work tension, Coaching classes load and other home stuff are daily schedule for a student.
Due to lack of care and precaution problems like stomach pain, headache, back pain are always around..
Hair Falling and Lower Eye Sight:
Due to ample of pressure from all around and inadequate diet with 5-6 hours sitting in from of PC will surely result in lowering the eye sight.
Because of loads of pressure and inconsistency with diet Hair Falling in CA students is common phenomenon.
Drinking plenty of water with proper diet will reduce such health issues.
While on Audits or at office break hours students tends to have junk food which are easily available, and it turns out in disease.
Most of the students fall ill during the exams, hence couldn't able complete their syllabus on time, this turns out in poor performance in exams.
Here is some tips for the betterment of the Performance:
Have a good schedule for completing all the syllabus which you have:
Figure out how many days you have, to study the syllabus, and the subjects you have to read. Then make a schedule by dividing the days for each subject according to the subject's importance. In that way you can avoid tension, because now you know, how much time is left
Sleep sufficiently:
8 hours of sleep is necessary for having a calm mind.
Take a Break:
While you are studying, take a break when you are feeling tired and your mind starts to wander away. If your concentration does not last for an hour, you should take a 5-10 minute break every hour to refresh your mind. With practice and minimal distractions, you might be able to space out your breaks gradually, so you can study productively for longer stretches.
Avoid junk foods:
Especially avoid meat, fried foods, chocolates and soft drinks etc.
Do have homemade food...
Drink lots and lots of water:
It's good for you. Helps your mind think better.
And lastly,
Avoid people that stress you:
These are the people that are constantly stressed about their grades or brag about how well they performed on past exams, or ridiculing you for not knowing what they know. Just focus on your own studying, and you will be all right.
