Everytime I try to put comments in any of the cells in Excel a name appears. I do not want the name to appear by default. How to do this?
Thanks.

Hi Anil,
It is very simple. Just select the name in the box & delete it and then enter your comment. Try it...

Thanks Dashrath sir.
I found the link you have mentioned.
I found user name. deleted it since I dont want any names to appear. clicked on ok. and exited excel 2007.
When I started Excel 07 again it asked me for user name and initial to be put in the pop box. I left it blank and said ok. No if I try to put comment the earlier name still appears. I dont want any name to appear in comment by default. Where am I going wrong?
Thanks.

You have to put something in the username and initials otherwise it will automatically take the earlier one.
Just press the spacebar once at the username field, and to initial field, if it asks so, now it will never auto show your name in comment.

Thanks Dashrath sir. It is working now. I just put space in username filed.
But now I am getting a colon(;) sign in comments box.
Can I avoid getting that oo?
Thanks
