I agree with the Opinions of Satish Sir,
Coaching classes are just Fooling & cheating students with Tall claims & showing that their classes are achieving 50 & 60 & 70% results or their material & classes Sylbs covered 90 & 95% of the Paper. Sir All this Classes are doing nothing but just copying the ICAI Past Questions & preparing their Material, I can make an open challenge to all coaching classes throughtout India ( except a Handful) to come & show their Study material & prove that what is there in that which is made by them on their own & not a copy paste of ICAI. All bl**dy classes Useless & cheaters.

Thanks for your views friends, but the sad part is very painful, when they make assurances for students that their career is secured. But unfortunately these are just gimmicks to attract young minds and swindle money in the name of education. They are playing with the life of many innocent students as mentioned by sardaar kaur ji and the views expressed by Mr.Praful.

Rahul sir, these are deceptive tactics used by most coaching academies to pull students to attend their classes, later once a student pays fees they are least bothered about giving good education.
One cannot think of the extortions made by some of the academies, when they charge exorbitant fees from students. Who says CA education is less expensive. I hope there are few of my friends who will pounce on me to say, do self-study. Please understand not everyone is blessed and one needs guidance. However, the important question is why allow such academies to flourish and play with the life of prospective CA's.

Satish, You have hit the bull's eye. Whatever claims a Coaching Institute makes is to be taken with a pinch of salt. I had recently penned my thoughts on same at /articles/selection-of-coaching-institute-17573.asp. (I am not able to copy and paste the contents of my artilces so have given the link directly).
The quality has started a downhill journey with students focussing just on their exams and not on practical application. High time that students realise the same.

Well, the article written by you is indeed a revelation to the students who blindly fall prey to such dubious advertisements. Yes sir I agree with the observations made by you and liked the articulation to call these coaching academies as "Rank Factory".
It is true that in this competitive world, everyone intends to perform well in life and there are no easy short cuts. One has to toil hard to achieve zenith in life and sustain it for a long duration, in this regard, quality education will surely keep them high against all odds.
Who better to narrate the plight of students aiming to secure rank than the ranker CA Suraj Lakhotia himself? His observations are real wake up call for all fellow students to realize the importance of quality education.

A suggestion to all students -
> Dont prefer shortcuts. There are no shortcuts to success.
> Coaching is only a starter, Rest all depends on you and your preparation.
> Refer atleast one good book, Particularly at the IPCC level. The knowledge and application base built here would help you in finals and your career ahead. Refer books by authors like Shukla and Grewal (A masterpiece for Accounts at IPCC level), bare acts for Law and Tax, Study Material for all subjects other than taxation.
You can refer to the following article for deciding whether coaching is required or not?

Infact I had taken Coaching for only one subject - Corporate Laws in Finals. The reason being that I had secured only 53 in PE II and low marks had costed me a higher rank. I wanted to work on this subject and joined one of the renowned teachers for Law.
I thought it would be a great learning experience. The initial two days seemed interesting but then i realised it was a sheer waste of time and money to attend such classes. There was hardly any value addition.
P.S - I am no where suggesting that students should not join coaching classes. Classes are required but select the teachers carefully.
