Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies the valuation of closing stock within a trading account. It addresses the common query of whether closing stock should typically be less than opening stock. The explanation highlights that closing stock is a residual figure calculated after accounting for opening stock, purchases, and sales, adjusted for gross profit. Therefore, higher sales generally lead to lower closing stock, and vice versa.

Now I can explain:

Opening Stock : 14000
Purchase: 56000
GP (10% of sales): 8400
Total 78400
Sales : 62000

Then Closing stock will be 16400 less than opening stock.

It's a simple concept if you have more sale then you have less stock and if you have less sale then more stock.
@ CA Rashmi mam now I clearly understand Mam ...clear explanation by you... thanking you
