We have received a letter from CPC where the subject is "communication on arrear demand".There is a table on second page where they have written "A.Y.2004"..what does A.Y.2004 mean? is it A.Y.2003-04 or A.Y.2004-05?

generally its read as year ending 2004 so it should be a.y. 2003-04.
I may be wrong too

please confirm and let me know because we are suppose to make the payment and for that we need to select the correct A.Y.

Better to call up the concerned official who have sent the letter to you. Hope there might be email or contact number in the letter. Its the best option.

Dear Fatima,
Year 2004 means A Y 2004-05. This you may find in the intimation itself in the last page.
