City boys shine in CA exam16 Jan 2009, 2355 hrs IST, TNN
Ahmedabad: At least 20 students from the state bagged ranks in the top 50 of the finals of the chartered accountancy exams declared on Friday. The
second and the third ranks have been bagged by students from Ahmedabad.
What the city accountancy tutors are celebrating is that the CA success result of Gujarat is 29 per cent which is far better than the national success rate of 20 per cent. The exam was conducted in November 2008 by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
Most of the rankers belong to Gujarati medium and are from HL College of Commerce. There were a total of 14,606 students who appeared for the exam of which 2,961 have passed from across the country while 334 are from Gujarat.
