Charging Gst in excess of MRP

Can any shop or mall charge extra GST on a product which is on buy one get one free offer.
For eg : a product is of MRP Rs. 1899/-( inclusive of all taxes), and the product is on buy one get one free offer.
But when anyone purchase it they charge Rs. 1994/-.
It is valid to charge extra GST on lieu of buy one get one free offer.

NO

But Some shopping mall are doing this.

Tricky issue.......... may not be charging GST in bill, but for second item.....

Suggest what to do

You can ask for refund of GST charged. (if clearly specified)........ else complaint under MRP act, 2006.........

Thanks sir

My Pleasure.......

I think we should compare 1994 with combined MRP of 3798...
so it is valid
But the product is already inclusive of taxes
No...
It's not valid....

The concept is Buy one Get one free. If free then cost not applicable for the Free goods... Rate only for the sale item...
MRP is the last price which can be charged by a shopkeeper/mall/retailers from the Customer. MRP is inclusive of GST.
There is no GST on MRP.
I would suggest you to take an action against the shopkeeper/mall by complaining to the National Anti Profiteering Authority.
Already complained yesterday
Waiting for their response.
As per my personal opinion, they not charge extra gst. because price is inclusive of GST.

its my personal opinion, if anybody have different view then views are welcome. thanks. disclaimer: its not Professional Advice.
What is thunder ata amount?? Is it really GST amount?? Are you sure? If yes then they can not charge GST... It is invalid as well as against law... But they can sale two items combined for more than MRP of one product... But still under head "By one get one free" it is not valid....
