I have not make any sale/ purchase from taking registration of GSt and not filled any return from till date; can I cancel my registration without filling returns

FILING OF NIL RETURNS ARE ALSO MANDATORY @ GST SITE
AND HOWEVER U CAN CANCEL GST REGISTRATION AFTER FILING TILL DATE RETURNS AND PAID OFF ALL LATE FEES
