Change in passing criteria in CA

Final 3123 views 24 replies

I heard that ICAI is planning to change the passing criteria as shown below:

  • Passing percentage to increase in each paper from 40% to 50%.
  • Aggregate passing percentage to increase from 50% to 55%.
  • No inter group set-off of marks available, means to pass a student must score defined aggregate marks in each group.

I don't know how true it is but came to know from one of the faculties of the Board of Studies.

from whr u come to no. bout these changes

I am also heard.

ya, i have also heard about the same. but i have heard of changes in only the increase in each paper not in aggregate. does anyone knows from which attempt it will be applicable ?

Its not officially announced, however the discussion is going on.......but once it is announced, it will be applicable from the subsequent attempt as it happened now "all questions are compulsory and that too from Nov09 attempt just one month in advance."

So its better to make stragegy in keeping these things.

Dont worry friends, its is surely a rumour

Is it correct ?, how would i know ?

weather ICAI Announced Officially.

 frigging ICAI!

Stupidity and foolishness of this type shows hat the subject has been infected ny the examination virus.

common frns,, we cant say that jo b hoga dekha jayega cz we have to plan our studies accordingly..... otherwise it may affect our results '-vely'..so plz yar try to confirm cz we r not having that much time to waste.......

ur right Lipika one cannot be so careless, hovewer my intention of telling such phrase is - not to worry or think so much for this else we have to take this positively and should develope such a mindset that whatever comes in our way to become CA will handled it effectively infact one must think of scoring good marks rather than thinking of getting border marks. This is a professional exam one has to prepare for the worst ever they (ICAI) can do.

Thanks dear

Kaushik
