01 October 2009We plan to purchase some Mineral Oils from a local manufacturer and use the same for Fuel (in Boiler) at time of prodcution.
The Fuel is not HSD nor LDO nor Petrol......it is an oil (Tariff Code 2710.19.90) sold by the supplier under his own brand name.
Can we claim CENVAT credit on the Fuel thus purchased ??

Fuel may be Furnace Oil , Heavy Petroleum stock or Lowe Sulphur Heavy Stock.
If a manufacturer pays duty on input (oil other then Petrol or HSD)and final product is also dutiable, then cenvat credit can be availed.
