In Rule 9 of CCR,2004 it is the credit can be taken under the cover of invoice issued by importer , pls clarify why importer will issue invoice .....pls clarify with a short example , if possible.

CENVAT credit can avail on the basis of Bill of entry if you are a direct importer and if you buy goods from an importer, the inovice issued by the Importer is an eligible documents for claiming CENVAT Credit.

Import invoice, supported by the custom bill of entry is eligible document for claiming the cenvat credit.
