Case laws query may 2014

Please if someone could clarify my confusions regarding case laws. How important are case laws for May attempts? generally i have heard amendments for May and case laws for November are important. Are case laws given in the recent case laws book by ICAI and RTP enough? Also if some of them have come in earlier attempts, do they still stand a chance to repeat? Can i also ignore case law based questions given in PM presuming they would never repeat?

u r right, ICAI never repeat case law, at least do case laws of 2013 given in RTP and case law book.
Sir, it would be a disaster to say that a case laws asked in past can never be repeated and so you can ignore. This is a fallacy, landmark judgments will always have an edge and these may be asked directly or indirectly in the examination. Yes it might be true that weightage for amendments is more during May attempt, but this can not always be correct, imagine if ICAI revises the pattern and the reverse happens. Hence my only appeal is to do a balanced preparation and ensure your geared up for whatever challenge is thrown at you. Best of luck.
At least give one or two proper reading to all case laws in both books of select cases and rtp. Thereafter you can revise of 2013, 2012....and remaining difficult or tricky ones.
