im thinking of joining cs. how many compulsory programs one has to do before being eligible to sit for cs inter? what is the duration of those courses per day?

Firstly you will have to do SIP. Its not a computer training but just introductry programme for 8 days. There is a computer training of 70 hrs. (approx. 2.5 mnths) to be done from aptech. However you can claim exemption by passing a single test. For details check this link-
