Iam a Fresher Chartered Accountant(Nov 14 passed out), please suggest me in terms of good package - is it wise to do a job as a financial analyst or I should go to typical accounting and auditing.

As a fresher, in Analytics I am not getting a package as high as in the field of accounts/audit. But after experience in Analytics is there are chances of a good salary.

Ps. It is simply a comparision between salary of a CA in field of accounts/audit and Finance Analytics.

Salary is one of the criterion for selecting the desired field. But, weigh your options in terms of the nature of work, kind of exposure and growth before choosing the area you wish to venture. In the long run every salary starts looking as if we are underpaid and that is a human pyschycology.

Yes there are many other factors which are to be considered, but I have an insight about them, what I do not know is Salary and growth perspective in these two fields.

Bunny an Analyst position is quite remunerative unlike typical accounts and audit. If you have flair for innovative ideas, you can opt for Analytics.

If you will do a Job of Financial Analyst, you will face competition with CMA, MBA, CFA, ACCA, BCom from SRCC.

And an IIM MBA and even MBA from top 10 B School will always be preferred to any CA.

Then comes CFA.

After CFA, comes the value of CA.

But in the traditional Accountung and Auditing, you will face no such competition.

Remember, a top Financial Analyst can be an IIM MBA, CFA or CA

But, the head of Accounts department will always be a CA.

The head of Auditing department will always be a CA.

Remuneration is dependent on the personal qualities and knowledge, experience.

Industrywise, both are in the same range.

But for a financial analyst job,an IIM MBA will be paid 2-3 times more than you, for the same work.

Then CA is not fit for finacial analyst? Sathish m, pls reply about the qualities of financial analyst
Finally you have to do what interests you. Renumeration and the salary that follows will be a product of what you like to do. Don't make Renumeration the only criteria. See what interests you and what makes you want to be at your desk on time day after day for the rest of your career.
