I intend to sell my house which was given to me by my mother in law.She transfered that house to me in the year 2007.The price of the house is around 1.5 crores. What will be the capital gains.Pl give in detail.

If the property is gifted, then the cost of acquisition shall be the purchase price of the property for the original/previous owner (your mother-in-law).
Require these details : (1) Purchase price for her (2) year of purchase

Dear Mihir
The property was in my father in law's name.On his demise it was transfered to my wife's name in the year 2007 by my mother in law and her son.There is no purchase price as such,It was just transfered to her name with some nominal fees at sub registrars place
