28 June 2024Hi friends, I sold my long term asset in the year 2023 and from the proceeds I have constructed a house on my wife's land inherited by her father's will ( not registered or no sale deed). can I claim exemption on capital gain from sale of property by this construction of house. pl advise.

Yes, provided you have NOC from your wife and the conditions as per sec. 54F are satisfied.

NOC from your wife and all other permissions to build HP to completion certificate in your name.
