My firm is proprietary and Fy 17-18 l have sold machinery and I have purchased this machinery before 5 years so my question is it is comes under short term capital gain or long term capital gain also my carry forward loss in business can adjusted against capital gain.

Asset is long term capital asset and gain is short term capital gain

but stcg can adjusted against carry forward business losses

No STCG cant be adjusted again c/f business loss
