Capital gain
I hv sold shares of ABB Ltd for Rs 518400 in August 2010 At that time Karvy Consultants gave me a Client ID after that i got the money
Now IT notice received
Whether Client ID given id for Demat ?
They are not answering
Whether the STT is paid or not I dont know
Can I claim the Cap Gain is Exempetd ?

alongwith money you have got a redemption slip also,
in 2010 ABB has buy back of shares, and i assume you have surrendered your shares under that scheme,
if the above is correct then STT is not paid,
