in my opinion, a practising can CA become NON-EXEXUTIVE director in a company

Hi Guys,
As far as Private Company is concerned, practicing CA can become Director in Company. He can be appointed as Executive Director also. (I have seen this case).
However, if Public Company is concerned, practicing CA can become Director but whether he can be Executive Director also? that is not sure.
