I have cleared my Group I of IPCC in this attempt. I want to first concentrate on my Group II, study for it, give attempt for group II in coming May attempt and then opt for articleship. Can I do so? I mean is there any rule that one must join articleship within one or two months of passing Group I? Just heard many of my friends saying this thing

there is no such obligation...
but your ca final attempt will be defered .. and ur duration of the course will also be prolonged.
if you dare enough to defer ur ca-final atttempt that you can easily postpone articleship..
nothing to do just dont register for articleship thats it.

@ Harish sir i dont want to postpone final attempt but i am confused that if i begin my articleship how will i complete my group2 studies?

you can discuss these things wid ur prospective boss...he is the only person who can get you out of the prob

there is no such rule................take time and prepare for May 2011 (Gr 2)........and u my join after May's result or after giving exams............depending upon u.......

You can give your final attempt after completing 2.5 years of articleship....................................
so it is better to join articleship so final exam attept get not delayed..........................................

thank you harish, tanveer and tehsinkhan..... is it correct that if I do myself registered as an article before 31st April 2011 my attempt for final exam don't get any more delayed?

to be elgible for November'13 Final u must join ur articleship within 30th april'11. Otherwise if you join articleship after giving the May exams then you can be eligible for May'14 Final. 2.5yrs will be completed only if you join within 30th April.

i think its better for you to get register as an article assistant as i know each student is eligible for 3 moth leave before appearing in exam...........
so i think you can tak to yopur respected sir also for the same so that you can take leave and also your exam will not be postp*rned..........

mee too is very confused...... if i go for articleship..... no one is ready to allow even 20 days leave for grp 2
