Can I personally handle Big4 pressure?

Friends,

I passed my CPT in 3rd attempt, IPCC failed thrice and failed once in T.Y.B.Com. exams as well. Ah! Don't laugh.

Today I have done direct entry to IPCC conversion and am still determined to do CA. Thing is I am not dumb. I have been to UN's conferences on my own merit, I have written papers on Economics for newspapers, and much more. I know so much about finance and economics nobody believes my Academia are so low. My laziness is the reason I am not able to convert into marks.

I have some solid references that can get me into KPMG in no time.

So as usual all my friends and even references have threatened me with long working hours at KPMG and they very well know I don't really work that long ever. 'Cos of long hours I have not joined tuition in my entire life.

Is it really that bad at KPMG? Will I be tortured so bad? Are they really as mean as people talk about? Do they GENERALLY work till 9PM? 12AM would reach only during audit periods, wouldn't they? But I am willing to join but if it is that inhuman, I should just rethink, shouldn't I ?

You have to change yourself for CA.....just remember no pain no gain....you have t loose something( lazyness ) for getting something ( CA ).....

I am working in Deloitte right now as an Article.
I can't tell you whether you should or should not join KPMG, all I can do is lay down my timings for you.

If I am in Delhi, I work 5 days a week till around 8 pm. I have to work 7.5 hours a day. If i work more than that, that is, I work 10 hours, I get such extra time approved by my senior and like this I make up hours extra worked and eventually convert it into leaves.

If I am outstation, I work 6 days a week, sometimes 7 days a week, till around 9 pm in client office and then I come back to the guest house and work for an hour or so after dinner.

Now it's up to you to decide.

Regards.

Aditya.

There are two things in life - Pain of discipline or Pain of Regret Choose Which one you would like to take.Good luck.

You should attend Orientation Programme conducted by ICAI for CA Students.

I met 7 new faculties there, I asked all of them, same question, what is better for a CA student Big 4, medium size or small firm.

I got common answer Big 4. Further added, Big 4 appoints mostly rankholders or students having good references. (You have good reference so you have a chance to be a part of Big 4)

According to them, it may have effect on your study life but also gives better work exposure.

They said that at the end it does not matter in how many attempts you passes your exams but practical experience does matter.
