No, minor is incompetent to contract and hence cannot become a member in such companies. In case of companies limited by shares he can hold fullly paid shares through his natural guardian.

Yes, you are correct. But in such a case he can be a member through guardian only. He cannot enter into a contract directly in his own name since he is not capable of entering into any contract.
