Hi Tony
Firstly I am happy to see your topic actually dealing with an honest, heart-felt subject I've hardly ever come across to read at Caclub. I actually hardly visit Caclub for Forums since most active members only and always participate in vague topics which even makes a child wonder about any fruition is gained by false motivations and promises; and that, too, at the expense of social pleasure which too is now being charged at Caclub from the healthy students community. Anyways...
Taking the topic further and coming to your reply I do have some things to state in my comment.
1. You can clearly judge the response this topic is having in support towards understanding - What's happening? and What's Wrong? among our profession.
Its a Cold Response!!.. So, the % of awareness is clearly missing and no one cares other than passing out CA and join a healthy package probably a couple of years into struggling career, whether here, or in the US or somewhere in a world. If all goes well.
Who Cares?
2. We can never point fingers against active members or the decision makers in the council since the majority of the students community are oblivious to it. Only if you're fighting a weak opponent, one can still hope for a change BUT when one wants to play power politics, state-on-state, then "self realization" is extremely important than showing agression and wasting time towards them.
Do you believe that you and your influences are on the right side? One thing you can do is settle to join the council after becoming CA for what you think is right by being involved in helping the students community. This is a form of service to others, and you can get involved in a variety of ways.
3. As a student you can opt for easy loans unless you don't have a wide mouth. Basically, a simple loan to meet your studies is manageable but most students waste a huge amount of such benefits towards paying coaching fees and rent or food. Never tempt for a loan unless you can plan basic needs on your own self and keep the requirements strictly towards financing CA education. You may need to sacrifice coaching and indulge into self study. (like I did!)
In each and every field students are facing such difficulties and they have passed such crititical situations smartly so no need to compare with Engineering or MBA students. Every student has some oddities in his/her life, you should learn to cope up with it, there is no place for such students who cry for an easy going in life.
4. Stipend increase has been proposed and it will make a place soon, the only problem is parliamentary delay. I firmly believe that many CA firms always give good stipends for what a deserving student expects. You must increase the potential of your self to actually be recognizable for a good stipend. I myself has started under a minimum 1500 to an increase upto 12000within 3 years. I still think its too much against the knowledge and time my Principal willingly gave towards every article. So, find a good mentor and work hard. You will get what you deserve once you create a position.
