Ca students are blind

1297 views 10 replies

I think CA students are blinded by the bright light of hope of stipend increase offerred by ICAI.

Oh, let the parliament approve your stipend, we will dole it out to you!!

So blind, ICAI managed to push the CA Amendment Bill thru in the Lok Sabha to even start LLPs,

but just could not touch the stipend chapter, in the regulations.

Blind! if not what else are we?

Why are we so patient?

We are we being made to work like donkeys with a carrot and stick approach?

Do u still earnestly hope that it will happen at least decade?

I stopped believing it is a student's institute long time ago.

Lets stop cringing for stipend increase to ICAI and demand it like the youth of this country from principal.

I agree with ur words but what we have to do to get high stipend..............Even ICAI is also not Increasing Stipend and Not Introducing New ammmendment that no requiremnent OF CPT for Graduates and worest thing that ICAI is not take any actions on that some Fresh CA dont get jobs..............................What ICAI doing

It isn't surprising for the fact that most students hesitate to rise and act against the ICAI as much the ignorance to even ACCEPT that we students are definitely taken for a ride when an important change has to be made.

Even Anna Hazare faces the same lack of support against corruption compared to voices raised (by fellow intellectuals and celebs) against Anna Hazare.

He is not doing for his own personal benefit and neither he has nothing to gain by fighting for the cause but relax at this old age. But, his determination is what takes him ahead than most selfish politicians.

Are we students facing the same lack of support?

Yes, we don't have Anna Hazare among our hard working students community and thats what sad for our future.

We are actually blind to see this fact.

Do u know what the planning commission defined as poverty line in 2011?

Rs. 32 per day in urban areas.

Rs. 26 per day in rural areas.

Do u know that minimum stipend is 750 in towns with popoulation less than 10 lakhs?

Do u know that is 25 per day in a month of 30 days?

And u expect a student to be able to get, what? Leave education, he cant get a life!

I think we should stick to the point of increasing stipend, better educational facilities (currently short library facilities are severe in many congested cities due to increased students demand for such facilities.) and most importantly a fresh approach to entry level of CA making it more meaningful and competent for better pass outs and deserving candidates.

Poverty reports have nothing to do with the above as means of meeting the ends to continue CA education are more available via loans and other beneficial sources.

We should approach some difficulties more prominent and are misusing CA profession indulging in harassment of students and a strict regulatory actions against other sources who are misusing the students fear in passing exams by charging high fees for no satisfactory outcome, for example, coaching institutes.

Yes Abhay u r right. But tell me who gave loan to all CA students without any criteria? That is why stipend is important because it is the only thing all the students can expect a equality in receiving.

In present situation, the stipend is so low, a student is actually indifferent between receiving it or not.

ICAI at least should provide good infrastructure like libraries in all towns, rather than pushing e-learning which will be accessible only to few students.

And my only problem is that students expect that institute will create change for their benefit, but the ICAI is actually being pushed around by some members having power in the council and the students are oblivious to it, just keep asking the same question, will the parliament approve our stipend and such other crap.

And when ICAI make some amendment for members, like chaning scheme of education, all the students are eye-washed that it is for their benefit.

If students want to benefit from ICAI decision, first they have to become members.

We should stop self pitying, comparing with engineering and MBA students, and have our own pride. Only then the student community will have some power. We need to respect ourselves and each other, and show our worth as students and individuals to get higher stipend.

That should be before members, not ICAI, which has actually been purposely avoiding the issue.

 Hi Tony

Firstly I am happy to see your topic actually dealing with an honest, heart-felt subject I've hardly ever come across to read at Caclub. I actually hardly visit Caclub for Forums since most active members only and always participate in vague topics which even makes a child wonder about any fruition is gained by false motivations and promises; and that, too, at the expense of social pleasure which too is now being charged at Caclub from the healthy students community. Anyways...

Taking the topic further and coming to your reply I do have some things to state in my comment.

1. You can clearly judge the response this topic is having in support towards understanding - What's happening? and What's Wrong? among our profession.
Its a Cold Response!!.. So, the % of awareness is clearly missing and no one cares other than passing out CA and join a healthy package probably a couple of years into struggling career, whether here, or in the US or somewhere in a world. If all goes well.
Who Cares?

2. We can never point fingers against active members or the decision makers in the council since the majority of the students community are oblivious to it. Only if you're fighting a weak opponent, one can still hope for a change BUT when one wants to play power politics, state-on-state, then "self realization" is extremely important than showing agression and wasting time towards them.
Do you believe that you and your influences are on the right side? One thing you can do is settle to join the council after becoming CA for what you think is right by being involved in helping the students community. This  is a form of service to others, and you can get involved in a variety of ways.

3. As a student you can opt for easy loans unless you don't have a wide mouth. Basically, a simple loan to meet your studies is manageable but most students waste a huge amount of such benefits towards paying coaching fees and rent or food. Never tempt for a loan unless you can plan basic needs on your own self and keep the requirements strictly towards financing CA education. You may need to sacrifice coaching and indulge into self study. (like I did!)
In each and every field students are facing such difficulties and they have passed such crititical situations smartly so no need to compare with Engineering or MBA students. Every student has some oddities in his/her life, you should learn to cope up with it, there is no place for such students who cry for an easy going in life.

4. Stipend increase has been proposed and it will make a place soon, the only problem is parliamentary delay. I firmly believe that many CA firms always give good stipends for what a deserving student expects. You must increase the potential of your self to actually be recognizable for a good stipend. I myself has started under a minimum 1500 to an increase upto 12000within 3 years. I still think its too much against the knowledge and time my Principal willingly gave towards every article. So, find a good mentor and work hard. You will get what you deserve once you create a position.

plz increase it

even a below 18 yrs old doesn't wnt to work for rs1000

but we r the future CAs

i think that stipend should be taken as pocketmoney...rather than a salary.

icai should do following things

1articleship tenure should be 1.5 years to 2 years.

2the principal should not  treat us like a  free labour.

3icai regulations should be strictly followed.

4easily assesable loan facility from banks.

5larger and many libraries.

6quality orientation and gmcs programmes which make us to compete iim.

7last ant not least good placement support.

they will make laws against dummy ,so that they can work us like slave ,

if icai really wanted us to get exposure they could have allowed us to work in an accounting or auditing postion for 3 yrs

for a salary you can at least live on.They are evil
