I am an IPCC student I had applied for inspection of my answer book of AUDIT paper i recieved today my answer book i was surprised to see that in that marks printed were 30 and i got 36 in result???
So is it possible that this difference can be there??

Dear Yash, In our CA profession conclusive evidence is required to support any statement so as in your case also.

Similar issued had arisen in my case last year in all 4 papers I had called for. One thing I could I make out of this was at first instance they make strict evaluation of the papers and in the end if you attempted all the six questions they allot six marks for the same.

This seems to be tactic used by ICAI to lure students to another attempt cz we are like," Yar this time I was just 1 mark short,next time pakka 50+ ayenge."
Also it can be seen as motivating students,as 36 marks dont look too bad in comparison to 30. And yes this has happenned to many people in CAclub itself.

Yes it happens..it had happened with me and had been happening in a lot of cases.In 90% of cases I know,it happened,I asked for 2 papers and it happened in 2 of them.
I think you are luckier,because in my case the mark in Results were lower than it was in my answer book.And I got my SFM and AAPE answer books when I was leaving for my FR exam.And I had compared my AAPE answer book with ICAI suggested answers line by line,still there is a HUGE discrepancy.
So,I want to request u not to break ur head in this matter here and concentrate in ur studies plz.If u r an average student just work hard and equally PRAY hard(lol).And never lose confidence in urself because of a person who earns good money but dont have the heart to give required time and attention to ur answer books.They are all called B*******.yeah I stand by my language..

sometimes the institute decide in favour of the students by awarding grace marks..for exmaple in case the paper was too tough and many students could not make it,they decide to increase the marks of all students by the awarding the same marks to all students..
The same has happened in your case.I m sure there is no bias,errors in such cases

yes quite a often this happens that ICAI awarded more marks in totals in case of failed students.
So nothing to be surprised of.
Plan for your upcoming exams.

it is possible and it happens...insreasing marks is at the discretion of the institute for the benefit of the students.however it is done on universal basis and not on individual basis..it is done if it approved by majority in the institute...
I am saying with so much confidence because the same was clarified by one of the ex presidents of the institute in a Seminar
How can the increasing of marks BE IN THE DISCRITION OF INSTITUTE...? No one has rights either to decrese the marks obtained or increase unless there is a clear provision that if students obtain certain marks which is near to 40 then he can be alloted some (required) marks. I have never heard of such rules of ICAI. They can increase marks or decrease while checking the paper either strictly or loosly by giving clear instructions to Paper Checkers. Marks of ICAI are always surprising..
