Considering the current Job market's position, it's hard for a person to get the job if he took more than one attempt to clear CA. Should Civil examination wil be a good option.

civil services is definitely better option but always remember there are few seats vary from 500 to 1000. students from iits, aiims & other good colleges from india preparing for it so more competition here compare to ca

OBVIOUSLY CIVILS IS BETTER THAN CA-THERE IS NO DOUBT IN THAT

BUT..ITS ALL DEPENDS ON PASSION OF STUDENTS
WHICH CAREER HE LOVES HE WILL GO AHEAD IN THAT PATH...

Dear Tinku
Im also a Civil service aspirant. But day by day it is moving out from reality.
Civil services is a way tougher exam as compared to CA. The primary reasons being the competetion and vastness of the subjects.
A General category candidate wanting to become an IAS officer should literally get in Top 100 out of 5 Lac aspirants. One can imagine the odds out there.
Iam not trying to discourage you but lets consider the Positives and Negatives of it.
Negatives:
1) Highly competitive (Prelims : 10000 out of 500000(2%)
(Mains : 800 out of 10000 (8%)
(Overall: 0.16% )
2) Do or Die. You dont have a recourse. I have seen plenty of people sitting in Delhi years and years and not able to crack it. In that case, the entire amount of time spent tends to be a waste.
3) Uncertainty of the Questioning pattern in the Mains .. Every year there's a change.
Positives:
1) While 5 lac is an absolute figure, The number of people who diligently prepare for the exam and write are less.
2) Once you are through with prelims, you need to be approximately 8 out of the 100 particpants writing the mains. Being in CA profession we are used to that pass percentage.
3) In Mains optionals - Commerce and Accountancy paper tends to be a plain vanilla for CA's. Hence we need to work only on the other optional.
