20 September 2012hey friends pl tell how to do theory subjects on our own i.e self study of CA final law, audit. 1st reading , 2nd reading and all. is it necessary to learn all the sections????? how to deal with case laws?? and is paduka necessary to be done for finals?????????

dear gal.
let me talk about law first.see its a very interesting subject.its all in the mind..do not take it to be tough at all..
all you need is concentration and interest towrads the subject..though called a theory paper by us,it is actually a very practical paper.
now how to go...
first of all , read very well,with full concentraion and next very important step..do make notes after reading each topic/section,,writing once is reading five times and these notes come very handy during exam times...and as far as sections are concerned..yes learn sections from directors at least..they wil fetch you good marks..
I am telling you this from my personal experience..it works
follow munish bhandari..very comprehensive book..
just ping me i will guide you about the other subjects later

hi all,
now let us come to auditing..i agree its a complete theory subject..
you need the learn the title of SAs well enough..do the standards properly..they are required for almost all the answers.questions are asked in such pattern that they require knowledge of acounting standards as well as standards on auditing.
you can easily grab 10 to 12 marks throgh the questions asked from professional ethics..for that learn the schedules and clauses,,its quite easy and conceptual.apart from above two topics,focus on topics like company audtors,dividend ,clause 49,tax audit, for this refer SHURBHI BANSAL.
for rest of the topics you can just refer practice manual
but remember dont leave any topic.
"attempting 100% paper increases your chances of passing..so having idea of each and every topic is very important"- this stand true for all subjects..attempt 100%

and yes CARO is also important..it carries not less than 10 marks..my suggestion is start audit after having idea of all accounting standards and company law

For Law subject, u shld surely try Amit Karia's Corporate & Allied Laws by Bharat Law House.
U cant afford to miss this one,
Directors chapter from Bhandari becomes very confusing & complicated,
But in Karia's book, it is divided into three disticnt chapters
New Companies Bill Overview is also included in the book.

Guys, it is my open challenge:
The actual procedure for appointment of directors including single transferable voting & cumulative voting in depth with examples & statistics are covered in only Amit Karia's book.
U wont find it in any other CA Final book in India.
All other books just contian a reference (a single mention), but Amit Karia's book has the full method in detail...
