Ca final preparation- nov 2015

Dear All

I'll be giving my CA Final exams in Nov 2015, I would like to know which all subjects I can start preparing from now itself...Please suggest me the materials for the same. Shall I start with the institute study materials or should I go for some other textbooks?

I'll start my coaching from May 2014.

u can study practical subjects like accounts....costing & Financial management from now onwards.....books u do a proper research and buy that book which suits you.......it is not that advisable to study taxes at this point of time..

jus revise what is taught in your classes (if & when u decide)... and enjoy college...these days wont come back again. :P

So shall I start preparing Financial Reporting, Strategic Financial Management & Advanced Management Accounting from institute Study materials?

Institute material....is not that good..........find some other author's book instead............i cannot suggest any book ..........because that decision you only have to take........but yes during revision you will have to surely use the institute's practice manual...........practice manuals are very important for the exams.

Dear Divya

i beg to differ with Mr. CA Confused, i feel that you should start from Materials only, u should cover the entire materials as far as costing, ISCA Accounts. u should work out all the problems on your own without seeing the answers. materials cover teh concepts and it very important to know the concepts, the more poblems u do, u can conquer the concepts. u will appriciate that even if u do 1000 problems in any subject, the question that is asked in the exam will be the 1001 type. so if u r through with the concepts then u will be able to do any probem. as far as ISCA is concerned, there cannot be a question outside the materials. so finishes the materials first. books next

Divya might consider changing her name to my name...........really choosing books can be a seriously tough thing ..........as i said earlier do your research properly. My personal opinion about law is that there is no better book than Munish Bhandari ( Main Book ).....atleast i have not seen.for others it's about which book suits your studying style......like some like vinod gupta for tax ( it is lenghty and more detailed on the other hand manhoran is completely exam oriented and you can complete it faster than Vinod gupta....so it is always subjective decision.

So I can start with the following subjects from now on ? There would'nt be much amendments by the nov-2015 for the following subjects right?

1.Financial reporting

2.SFM

3.ISCA

4. AMA

Anything else?

ISCA they have changed syllabus........which is applicable from Nov 14.......so purchase a book which is applicable for attempts from Nov 14 and further.

Corporate Law find about the status of New Companies Act and from which attempt it would be tested in CA Exams.

For.tax u shud go.for Vinod Gupta....it will help u in future too. For accounts..if u r doing tutns frn praveen.sharma..then its sufficient

Dont go for FR as if IndASs wil be implemented there wil be significant changes in course. SFM is ok. AA&PE is also ok to start. C&ALaws wil be amended by Companies Act,2013. AMA is also ok to start. ISCA & IDTLaws new course wil be applicable from Nov 14 so start preparing frm new Study Material hosted in BoS knowledge portal in students menu on www.icai.org. DT Finance Act 14 wil be applicable so cant start the same. GO FOR AMA ISCA(new course) SFM ADV AUDITING & PROFESSIONAL ETHICS ONLY. Always go for institute's SM for base reading. PM for practice. SAs & RTPs for examination preparation & last mth revision. ONLY

You can start preparing for FR, SFM, AMA, if you want to add one more subject to the list then i suggest u Direct tax...even my attempt is in nov15...i hav completed SFM..nd now undergoing coahin for FR, AMA & DT....all the best..:-)
