In case you have converted to the New/Revised scheme of education on or before 01-02-2018 ie; from CPT to Foundation, Intermediate(IPC)(Old) to Intermediate(New) or Final(Old) to Final(New) and find that the exam form of the Old scheme is appearing, you may create a provisional login under the desired exam and apply. To do so, you may correctly select examination as Final-New/ Final-Old/Intermediate-New/Intermediate(IPC)-Old/Foundation, as applicable to you, enter your ICAI Registration Number and Date of Birth. The system will prompt that "Registration No. and Date of Birth you have entered do not match with our records. However you may submit the details as Provisional Candidate". Please tick the checkbox "YES. Register me as Provisional Candidate". Please tick the checkbox "YES. Register me as Provisional Candidate". Enter ICAI Registration Number in the field "Registration Number as per your Records".
The office will try to regularise the registration with the help of particulars provided by you and will bother you only in case it remains unresolved at our end. Please ensure that you are eligible to apply for the said exam.

Hey!
Appreciate your reply.
However, I did read point 15 of FAQs. Posted this query yesterday because I am unable to create the provisional login as well. I already have a login on icaiexam.icai.org which has been created after Nov'2016 so that's creating an issue. While creating the provisional login (after checking the yes box), when I enter my primary email address and mobile number, a message saying that the details already exist flaashes and I am unable to proceed further.
I have contacted the following till now since 6th Feb'18 but still no solution:
1) Helpline Numbers: STD Code - 0120 - 3989398, 3054851, 3054852, 3054853, 3054854, 3054810, 3054834, 3054835, 4953751, 4953752, 4953753, 4953754, 3054808,3054809,3054813, 3054819, 3054839, 4953708
2) Toll free numbers: 18001211330, 18002002501, 18004192929, 18004254275
3) Email addresses: final_examhelpline @ icai.in, edpexam @ icai.in
The irony is that ICAI has so many helpline numbers but none know how to help. I would rather say that it seems like a miracle or an acheivement the call is answered as the ratio of a call being picked up to unanswered calls is 10:trillion.

Oh!!
I thought of doing the same. But, don't you think that will get recorded in their registers for future correspondence?
However, I might have to create a new id and a take a new number if such is the case. Hopefully they regularise it later as they are promising. I think i will keep this option as last resort. Will wait a couple of days.
Thanks :)
