Ca final may 2015 exam preparation

With only 3 months to go for the exam I am extremely confused about how to prepare for it. Especially the subjects Direct tax, Indirect tax and law. Can anyone who has passed the exam help me regarding how to prepare in these 3 months and the weightage that should be given within each subject to the chapters? Any help in this regard will be really good. Thanks in advance.

Hey Tamanna, same here i also need to prepare for the exams for ca final

hey... me too giving d xam in may and ya really need help in dis regard....

Dear Tamanna and Pankaj, it all depends on your personal attributes!!! I mean how much you have prepared for individual subjects n sometimes the other may not equally good at one subject as u are. So know your strengths and plan accordingly.

However, the course of DT, IDT is very vast and there are lot of amendmends in law. So u need to revise it atleast thrice n its possible in 3 months span. Set your goals and follow them blindly. All the best.

My advise based on analysis and practical experience : DT is an ocean and time consuming. Hence, go for vinod Gupta summary module+PM+amendment+case law. You can save huge time in DT if you follow this. Law- Finish off allied laws first (PM is enough except for banking). Companies Act, first finish off amendments. Then proceed with directors, accounts and Audit, oppression and mismanagement and producer comp. If you do this, you could easily answer 80% of your paper. Plan your time for - First time study+first revision+second revision (before exams). All the best!!!
Sfm - If you are conversant with the concepts, practice only from PM. Concentrate on portfolio since it is not tested in past two attempts. You can save huge time if you do only PM. Auditing- It is not about what you know but its all about how you present. Professional Ethics - Remember ethics clause numbers and what the clause says and do only PM Standards- Remember standard number, concepts from surbhi bhansal flow charts and do PM Other chapters - Given the time constraint, PM is enough. For every question try linking to SAs, AS (if any) and Caro reference.

Thank you so much for helping.

Can you tell me how to prepare for IDT especially Service Tax and Cost?

Thanks KR mam.. this has helped me a lot too... thanks vishal sir..

Dear Tamanna, for IDT if u have taken the classes, revise the notes and do practise practical questions from ICAI Practise Manual and if u have not taken the classes, u can refer Bangar Sir Book and also PM.

For cost u can take Sanjay Agarwal Sir's book along with ICAI pm.

Also do practise Mock Test Papers for all subjects, which will be available in the Institute website probably next month. All the best.

I will be a rank holder in may 15 exm.. all the best u all... :)
