Ca final marking methodology

Was researching a few CA final results by having a look at the Top 3 rank holder marks.

In November 2010 which was the last exam under the old syllabus, the top ranker scored 60%

but under the new syallabus, the top ranker scored 75%

why is there such a  big difference?

are the papers set differently such that it is more difficult to score under the old syllabus?

is the marking done differently?
