Dear sir
I have started my articleship from 1st December 2016 after passing ipcc exams, i will be completing 2 years and 5 months of articleship on 30th april 2019. Can i give ca final exam in may 2019,as i am just short of 1 month from the criteria or is there any way to appear in may 2019 attempt.

Please suggest me on this matter.

No it won't be possible for you to attempt the exams in May 2018. ICAI is very strict in terms of their regulations with respect to exams. Even one day is enough to delay your exams.

So, just prepare for your attempt in Nov 2019. It will not matter much in the long term.
