CA exams passing criteria - setoff rule

To take benefit of setoff marks, do we need to appear for all the 8 papers of both groups??
let's say
I already have two exemptions in group 1 from Nov 19 attempt.
I have appeared for both group of Nov 20 attempt (only 6 six papers as I have exemptions in 2 paper).
suppose if my total marks in Nov 20 comes like this
group 1 - 220
group 2 - 190
can I get setoff benefit for group 2 even though I have appeared only for 6 papers ??
or will I considered as fail in group 2??
