CA and CWA Simultaneously.. What Formalities To Comply With???

IPCC 1382 views 12 replies

Hi All,

I am a CA IPCC Student and had already appeared in May' 2011 Examination and awaiting for results. I have enrolled for CWA Intermediated in May 2011 and will be appearing in the CWA Inter Examination (Both Group) in December 2011.

I am not undergoing articleship in both the courses. But ICWAI accepts, on the job work experience for a major part of their articleship period.

I would like to know if i submit a Work Experience Certificate to avail the exemption given by ICWAI from undergoing Articleship will it attract any type of formality which i need to comply with either ICAI or with ICWAI.

In easier words i want to know all the formalities which a student has to comply with when pursuing both the courses together.

Kindly help.

Thanks in Advance.

1. ICWAI won't accept ICAI's articleship experience for availing exemption from their tranining. You need to provide work experience as per their criteria.

2. When you join ICAI's articleship you need to seek permission vide form 112 for additional courses during articleship. There is no such formality during ICWAI's training.

Brother, you need experiance in same field that an ICWA would have.. I don't think your current job is eligible for exemption.... Just ask in ICWA chapter clarify which work will get exemption....

You need to submlit  form 112 to ICAI for studying other course during your articleship period....

This thing is for sure that my job profile falls under their criteria both in terms of field of my work and turnover as well..

But my confusion is, if  I successfully submit the work experience certificate with them and undertakes the 6 months of articleship training as a Cost Trainee then do i have to submit the FORM 112 with ICAI...???

Yes, you need to submit Form 112 to ICAI for doing any other course during your articleship period.

it may be ICWA, CS, MBA but you need to submit FOrm 112.

Hey Brother,

Sorry to bother you again and again, but i m really very confused and its all because i tried taking help form ICAI e-Sahayata. Instead of explaining me they confused me.

I was saying if i don't register and commence for Articleship with ICAI

but

start Articleship of ICWAI as Cost Trainee then what should i do in that case because i m not doing any other course because i m not in ICAI Articleship??

Please Help..

In that case i think you don't need to submit Form 112(not sure). wait for others reply and conform it.

so when you are going to do Articleship of ICAI, are you postponing it for ICWA Training?

ICWAI and ICAI are separate bodies, if you have doubts regarding this.

1. You need to submit form 112 with ICAI only when you have started ICAI's articleship and you are doing another course/ employment simultaneously. If you complete CWA before joining CA articleship then you don't need to fulfil this formality.

So forget any formalities with ICAI unless until you join articleship.

2. ICWAI requires no such formality and is not concerned with other courses/ employments you are doing, even when you start practical training, if you do.

If you want exemption from the training then only you need to complete formalities for the same.

You can get exemption for ICWAI practical training provided you meet the specific criterias as here, Q.6:

https://www.icwai.org/icwainew/docs/FAQ/Training_FAQ.pdf

If you are already under employment in specified organisation and area, you would need to submit FORM T-3, which can obtained from here:

https://students.icwai.org/TnP/students-forms.asp

I think you fit in the criteria, however confirm this.

Also Refer:

https://students.icwai.org/TnP/students-SchemeforPracticalTraining.asp

https://students.icwai.org/TnP/students-forms.asp

https://students.icwai.org/TnP/students-deed-trg.asp

https://www.icwai.org/icwainew/docs/FAQ/Training_FAQ.pdf

You can confirm/ verify this from your chapter/ council:

https://www.icwai.org/icwainew/contactus.asp

You shall not be able to get exemption from CA articleship unless otherwise you were in defense, etc. and that too not for full period.

Don't mix the specific word for CA's training called as "articleship" with CWA's practical training, it gets confusing.
