buy back and delisting of shares apart from procedural requirements having same impact on shareholders then how one can differentiate between these two?

buyback means shares are repurchased by the company and are destroyed ; means shares which are bought back are cancelled . however in delisting shares are purchased from shareholders by the promoters of the company , more than the level of 75%. and company is delisted from the stock exchange
