I do fully agree with my friends. The Govt. is in no mood to relax the salaried class because they get solid tax collection from us. By way of original DTC draft the Govt showed salaried class a nice picture by increasing the slab to Rs. 25 Lacs & other proposals. But soon all this disappeared like a dream because we had committed a crime to dream for a little relief. The learned Govt. officials might have started sweating after estimating decrease in revenue from this class, so they just put that old wine in new bottle by way of New DTC. They are not willing to spare this milch cow. Govt. thinks that cost of living of salaried class is only Rs.1.80 lacs, above that all is “Income” and taxable. As a businessman can adjust “all/any” expenses incurred for business why salaried class is not provided relief like depreciation on personal vehicle, computers etc. which is the need of the day for a salaried class to “just save and keep going” his job. Can the Govt. tell us the magical way to complete transportation @ Rs.800/PM, Medical Rs. 15000/PA, Edu.Fees @ Rs.100/PM, Hostel @ Rs.300/PM etc etc. Salaried class doesn’t have any platform from where we can be heard. The fact is that salaried class is busy in just saving his job, education of his child & safety of family. We just cry once when the annual budget puts salt on our wounds.
