Thx. for ur fruitful reply @ gaurang..
Was expecting many more replies but it seems everyone is too busy at the moment!!!
Anyways Varsha...
You are in CA Final itself suggests that u are capable n smart enough to know, regd. how to proceed with preparation for CA Exams...In short just follow the manner u approached while preparing for ur PCC/IPCC exams...
Regd. my advice as to "What i follow or have always followed in my academics,i think it may not be suitable for 95% students in the world ,the reason being i don't practice any sums of even the practical subjects leave alone jolting down theory paper answers as a proper preparation point, for that matter..this is what i have done all my academic life"...
Till graduation mugging up the matter (be it theory or practical sums) is what i have done.....But for a post-graduate course like CA,i have had to modify my approach a tad bit..
So,For me,now understanding the concept matters the most in practical subjects,it helps me to capture the basics of the (Chapter)subject matter being learned..with that basic i proceed with understanding sums of varying levels in each chapter i.e (no. of types, difficulty level, specific formulas/approach followed etc.)
During the exam days,i make it a point to concentrate on the problem areas of the subject which matter to me..i initially filter down (through ABC analysis) the grey/key areas of the chapters which require last day revision as per the timeframe available between the exams and then revise them in the order/sequence in which im most vulnerable/susceptible to and may be found wanting in the exam hall!!!
Regd. books for Group 2,would recommend the same as those followed by @ gaurang, except for DT for which u may refer Vinod Gupta..
