Book of paduka for direct tax

It is good for revision only.

Go for T N Manoharan. (or Vinod K. Singhania if u have time & patience)

Padhuka is only a compilation of all suggested answers & RTPs. Also refer to Vinod Gupta's Summary Module.

Vinod Gupta (VG) Sirs modules are the best one. No doubt Singhania Sirs book is king of all even VG Sir admits this and respects him for this. But it requires lots and lots of time to study Singhania and you will have to make your self notes so that you can revise befor exam. Without a thought go for VG sir books. It may look like its 8 books but trust me they are quite easy to understand as everything is supported with good no. Of examples. Best thing is his summary module which makes it almost possible to revise this never ending subject a day before exam. DT cannot be made more simpler as has been done by VG sir. Hats off to him.

I used Padhuka in May 2012, it is the best, I dont know about other opinions, but there is nothing better than it, in my opinion, it also comes with a fast track referencer, which is great for Last minute revision, In DT revision is as important as reading, if not less. I strongly recommend it.

1. incorporates past RTP, Past question papers.

2. style of presentation is pointwise.

3. Revision is possible due to the summary of all topics known as Fast track referencer.

Paduka is really good in the above aspects, i dont see any cons in it. YES you will require Practice manual (because you can afford to give time to it, since your first group is already clear) but dont forget the case laws for May and Nov and the RTP.

I have read from VG sir's notes also , though they are good, they are not practical to refer, at this point of time, its good for refering, not from exam point of view, as u said, its very lengthy and revision of the topics covered is a bit difficult. Though there is a summary module, I still would not suggest it, coz not all topics are covered in the summary, and FTR of paduka covers all topics. VG sirs notes are good, but not feasible  now, thats what i feel, see if you are comfortable with the same after assessing your valuation. All the best and god bless :)

culd any one of  upload the fast track referencer for Nov 2012 of indirect taxes and (if possible) direct taxes.......i found one but tht was for may 2012....its a life saver...plzzzz plzzz do it...if u guys can....would be extremely thankful
