Bonus Issue-Balance Sheet Presentation

Security premium account will reduce to extent of value of bonus shares and bonus shares should shown under share capital with note "tht so much shares have issued for consideration other than cash"

no entry to be passed only make disclouser in notes to accounts and increase only number of shares in balancesheet

share premium account gets debited and sharecapital acconu credited.

a note

that shares were issued for consideration other than cash in the form of bonus shares

should appear in the narration to paid up capital in B/S.

A disclosure should be made stating that so many shares ( in nos) were issued for considerations other than for cash.

In the Schedules Below Paid up capital, it has to be disclosed that ..... no. of shares amounting to Rs .... has been issued as bonus shares .
